Slot Machine Scams

Slot Machine Scams

Regardless of where you play, what you play, and how you play, there will always be people who are out to scam you and take your money. Gamblers have often been the target of scams, especially while playing various slot machine games. Gamblers are often dreamers, and think that the next hand, roll, or pull of a lever will bring them wealth. This is why scammers often target people who enjoy gambling, because they are easy to get lots of money out of.

Today, most slot machine scams are online. There might be a few casinos around that have a tampered slot machine, but more are legitimate. It’s some of the sketchy casino sites that you have to watch out for. The Internet makes it very easy to run a casino, so pretty much anyone can do it. This means that scammers, swindlers, and other lowlifes can fairly easily start a casino, tamper with the software, and steal thousands or even millions of dollars from players. When you think about it, it would be nearly impossible to tell if a slot machine was a scam, as you can go 20 spins on a legitimate slot machine without winning anything.

Most casino sites pay out a specific percentage of everything they take in (at least with slot machines). The percentage is usually at least 85-95%, sometimes even more. If it’s below 80% it’s a scam or might as well be one. Of course those are the theoretical returns – so don’t expect to get at least $80 back if you wager $100. If you want to avoid getting ripped off, all you have to do is stick to well-known casino sites. Preferably, find sites owned by large companies who have been in the online gambling industry for several years. If not, at least find a casino site that has good reviews, and look for one that publishes its payout percentages. Sometimes you have to dig around a bit to find that information, but legitimate companies will usually tell you everything.
